Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld announced today that the President has nominated:

Lieutenant General David W. Barno, United States Army, for reappointment to the grade of lieutenant general and assignment as Assistant Chief of Staff for Installation Management, United States Army, Washington DC. He is currently serving as Commander, Combined Forces Command-Afghanistan, United States Central Command, OPERATING ENDURING FREEDOM, Afghanistan.

Lieutenant General Robert W. Wagner, United States Army, for reappointment to the grade of lieutenant general and assignment as Commanding General, United States Army Special Operations Command, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He is currently serving as Deputy Commander, United States Joint Forces Command, Norfolk, Virginia.
